New low-fluoride gel for young children

Many children age under the age of three may be prone to dental decay.  Fluoride applied topically to the tooth on a regular basis has been shown to be very effective in preventing decay.  Unfortunately fluoride is toxic in large amounts and children under the age of three are small and more susceptible to fluoride toxicity.  Recently, a product has been researched that contains less fluoride and an additional ingredient, sodium trimetaphosphate, that helps reduce decay and minimize fluoride toxicity in very young children.
